Orbitra is a top-down pixel art space game about the routine of a lonely miner. Leave the base, cross the sector, brake into a planet's orbit, extract fuel, ore or crystals, and make it back alive to sell your cargo. Every trip pays for something new: a faster engine, a bigger hold, a stronger shield, or a whole new ship from another faction, each with its own special ability.

The core decision is always the same: keep exploring, or head home while you still have hull, fuel and cargo space? The richest planets are guarded by the Nautolan fleet, and if you run out of fuel halfway, the tug will charge you for it — in gold, in cargo, or in hull.

Features

  • Flight with real momentum: the ship drifts; thrusting burns fuel, drifting doesn't.
  • Assisted orbits and extraction: brake, enter orbit and mine while you keep aiming.
  • Real risk: lose your cargo if your ship explodes; pay a tug if your fuel runs out.
  • 13 ships in 3 families (Void, Kla'ed and Nairan), each family with its own special: Aegis, Shockwave and Homing Salvo.
  • Per-ship upgrades and Mastery: investing in several ships gives bonuses to your whole fleet.
  • Trading, storage and breakable asteroids that drop ore.
  • In the full game: a mining fleet that works on its own, 4 universes with their own mechanics (nebulae, gravity wells) and a post-game with the Nautolan Dreadnought boss.

Play the demo

The free demo is on itch.io (opens in a new tab), playable in the browser or as a Windows download. It includes the first universe (reduced), the starter ships, combat against the Nautolan fleet, trading and storage — about 15 to 20 minutes. Keyboard controls; text in English and Portuguese.

The full game is in development and planned for PC on Steam.
