Caso Aberto ("Open Case") is an investigation game with a PlayStation 1 look, inspired by the board game Clue. A murder has just happened: you photograph the scene, collect objects, send evidence for analysis in the police car, question suspects and witnesses and write everything down in a paper notebook. When you are sure, you gather everyone and name who did it, with what and where.
Every case is randomized: the culprit, the weapon, the room and the house itself change from one game to the next. But investigating has a price. Someone is watching, and the closer you get to the truth, the closer the Shadow gets to you.
“Caso Aberto” is a working title.
Highlights
- Randomized cases that are always fair to solve; a case code lets you replay the same one.
- Real investigation: photo camera, inventory, limited lab analyses and few questions per person.
- Detective's notebook: corkboard with photos and strings, suspect files, a map of who was where.
- Suspense: dark rooms, a flashlight, hiding spots and the camera flash as your only defense.
- PSX look: low resolution, reduced colors and grain, like 90s horror games.
